Kimberley Pharmacy Services was named the overall winner of the competition at the Australian Pharmacy Professional conference (APP) on the Gold Coast, with the award presented by the Federal Minister for Health Sussan Ley. The remote area pharmacy was named the Excellence in Community Engagement category winner, before being adjudged the best pharmacy for 2015.

Kimberley Pharmacy Services in Broome are not your typical pharmacy. According to co-owner and award recipient Hannah Mann; their “network” covers an area twice the size of Victoria, and they face many logistical challenges so obviously they were always going to have to be innovative in their approach.

KPS have worked tirelessly to constantly adapt and not only just be relevant to their market but they strive towards making positive and meaningful changes in their community. As such it’s safe to say they have a pretty unique business model. Leading the way in collaborating with other Health Care Professionals in their region to deliver better patient health outcomes; they are a credit to the Pharmacy profession. Aspen Generics National Sales Manager, Tim Burrows comments “We are very pleased to see our partner KPS recognised for the contribution that they have made to pharmacy and their community. They have introduced many unique initiatives and approaches in their business, delivering tangible outcomes to those whom Hannah calls some of the most ‘in need’ and ‘at risk’ people in Australia. We are proud to call them our business partner, congratulations again to Hannah and the team at Kimberley Pharmacy Services”
