Lip service. Cold sores: whether they’re brought on by stress, sun or another trigger, they can be annoying, painful and highly contagious. At the first hint of that tingle, itch or burning sensation near your lips, cover the affected area with Zolaten® 5 times a day. Applied early enough, Zolaten®’s active ingredient acyclovir zaps the growing herpes cells before they create an unsightly blister. If a sore has already taken hold, Zolaten® eases the pain and shortens its stay, returning your lips to fine health, sooner.Zolaten® zeroes in on the cold sore virus – tackling cold sores before they can reach the blister stage, and speeding up the healing process.
Ingredients Acyclovir 5% w/w.
Directions Apply 5 times a day for 5 to 7 days to the affected area. Use as soon as the first symptoms of a cold sore appear, such as itching, burning or tingling. For external use only. Do not use in the eyes.
Warnings
Store below 25C. Do not refrigerate. Wash hands immediately after touching the cold sore area and after applying Zolaten®. Do not apply near eyes, or inside the nose or mouth. Avoid sharing towels and refrain from kissing while you have a cold sore. If symptoms do not improve after seven days, see your healthcare professional. .Will I get cold sores again after using Zolaten?
You may. The herpes simplex virus stays in your body, and cold sores can still recur. Zolaten® is not a cure for cold sores. It eases their pain and shortens their duration; and if applied at the tingling stage, will help stop their development into blisters.Why do I keep getting cold sores?
It helps to consider what might be triggering your cold sores. These triggers vary for different people but include stress, fatigue, illness, hormonal changes including menstruation, too much sun exposure or, alternatively exposure to extreme cold, and even injury to the lips – for example, through too much rubbing.I’m pregnant.
